Buying vintage art at online auctions can be exciting—and a little overwhelming. This guide covers key tips to help you bid with confidence, from understanding added fees and shipping policies to checking condition reports and setting a firm budget. Before you bid, check the rules:
What will be added to the final cost?
- Buyer’s fee? Droit de suite?
- Be aware that customs fees may apply, especially for international purchases.
- Does the auction house arrange delivery, or do you need to handle it?
- Return policy?
Use the Auction House as a Resource
